Low Carb Tomato Meat Sauce

When I was younger I hated Tomato Meat Sauce. At a small age it was the onions of course, but when I’d finally made my piece with them I think it was the fact that Bolognese Spice Mix, made its way to our home. Everyone loved the mix, except me. That was it, I couldn’t enjoy it again until my twenty-something years. So, that’s when I decided to make my own version and it was good. So good.

Low Carb Fresh Tomato Meat Sauce

Ingredients
  1. 700 g (1,5 lb) ground beef
  2. 4 shallots
  3. 10 tomatoes
  4. 3 stock cubes beef
  5. 2 tsp sambal oelek
  6. 1,5 msk balsamic vinegar
  7. 1 dl (04,2 cups) creme fraiche
  8. 1 tbsp oregano
  9. 3 tbsp tomato paste
  10. 2-3 cloves of garlic
Instructions
  1. Chop and fry shallots a couple of minutes in butter on low heat.
  2. Chop tomatoes and add to the pan, add stock cubes and let simmer until the tomatoes are crushed.
  3. Meanwhile, fry the beef in a separate pan, chop it with the spoon at the same time as frying so that you'll get even, small pieces of meat.
  4. When the meat is ready you pour the tomatoes into the meat. Add sambal oelek, tomato paste and balsamic vinegar and let simmer 20 minutes.
  5. Add oregano and creme fraiche, let simmer additional 10 minutes.
  6. In the very end, when you are satisfied with the flavor, you grate the cloves of garlic into the mix and blend. I serve with a great feta cheese salad or zucchini pasta.
Notes
  1. I put the fresh garlic in at the last moment rather then in the beginning because I much prefer the taste of fresh garlic in my meat sauce.
